Happy Independence Day!

It’s the 4th of July… what are you up to???

If you’re reading this over your morning coffee, come and join the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble at Balcones District Park at 10am for some John Philips Sousa marches, some playtime on the slides, and a picnic lunch!  The Milwood Neighborhood Association and Walnut Crossing Neighborhood Association are hosting their annual family-friendly event, so if you live in the ‘hood, you’re invited!

If you’re a KUTX listener, you might have recognized a familiar voice on John Aielli’s “Eklektikos.”  I had the honor of interviewing with John to promote our summer concert series!  Missed it?  You can listen here:

The Austin Civic Wind Ensemble will be playing our patriotic program in its entirety at the Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival on Lake Austin at 8pm.   Click the link for details!

I’ll leave y’all with one of my favorite bits of children’s entertainer Billy Jonas’ stage show — you’ve heard of a round of applause… how about a square?  A triangle?  A FIREWORKS of applause?

Enjoy your holiday!

Meow, meow!
