The Northwest Rec Center’s Kite Workshop & Music in the Park is Saturday, February 21st!
This event is FREE for all ages from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
The workshop will begin at 1pm, so come make a kite — and then fly it outside in the field, where there is also a playscape, sunshine (hopefully), the picnic lunch you brought along, and music provided by Austin’s groovy, jazzy, funky, and bluesy combo, Get It Good!
This is Ms. Kat’s “grown-up” band, in a rare daytime and family-friendly public appearance! (Please note, this will be the soundtrack for kite flying and not a kid-centric show.)
The weather is supposed to be cloudy with a high of 71, so we’re hoping for a dry and breezy day for kite flying before the temperature plummets and the rains return. However, this event is RAIN or SHINE! If it gets too nasty to be outdoors, everything will take place indoors in the gym, and you’ll have your kite all ready for the Zilker Kite Festival on March 1st!
I hope you can join us for this fun, free, family-friendly event!
